What is a Podcast?

A podcast is an episodic collection of spoken word digital audio files that a user can download for easy listening onto a personal computer. Streaming apps and podcasting platforms offer a simple, streamlined way to maintain a queue for personal consumption across numerous podcast outlets and playback devices.

Typically a podcast series features one or more rotating guests engaged in a discussion of a common subject or current event. Within a podcast, discussion and content can range from carefully scripted to totally improvised. Podcasts combine intricate and imaginative creation of sound with thematic issues ranging from scientific analysis to journalism in the slice of life.

Why Podcast is considered as a lucrative form of media consumption in 21st century

For podcasting this year was a breakthrough one. More than half of Americans have already listened to a podcast, and an additional 32 percent listen weekly, according to Infinite Dial research by Edison Research. It is the highest annual rise since monitoring of this data began in 2008. Podcast production is also rising, with more than 700,000 podcasts and 29 million downloads, up 27% from last year. Due to this increasing fan base, major businesses are finally beginning to pay attention to the space, Spotify expects to spend $500 million this year on acquisitions, and already purchased content company Gimlet, tech platform Anchor, and true crime network Parcast for a combined $400 million.

In the “crazy growth” of podcasts, Wired magazine called it a “fundamental moment,” which “highlighted the medium to its highest degree of public exposure.

So we can create mobile apps which allow people to download audio or stream audio in exchange for a monthly subscription. When designing the software, we must bear in mind that the software should be able to run smoothly on low cost smartphones and limited access to the Internet. These are the kinds of podcast that we should make as a country for economically propelling our nation forward.

Ability deficit is one of the major reasons behind our country’s high unemployment rate. Bangabandhu-1 satellite was launched into orbit on 11 May 2018, the first commercial satellite. Both of these will make Internet more affordable and available in the coming years.
